Obituary of Elizabeth Marlene Skinner
Please share a memory of Elizabeth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With great sadness and love, the family of Marlene Skinner (nee Kean) announces the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin on November 23, 2022 at age 79. The daughter of Lewis and Bessie (Wilmont) Kean, Marlene was born on September 21, 1943 in Wesleyville and grew up in Head of Bay d'Espoir, later raising her family in Gaultois with husband Ephraim. Marlene had a deep passion for music and was a long-time organist at St. Luke's Church in Gaultois, and the old Anglican church of Head Bay d’Espoir. She was a talented knitter and delighted in making people smile with her woolen gifts. An avid card-player, she enjoyed many evenings around the table playing with friends and family, and enjoyed nothing more than spending time and sharing stories with her family and many friends.
Marlene leaves to mourn her children, Sherry (Glen Kearley) Skinner, Angela (Ken) Crant, and Randy (Linda) Skinner; grand-children Brandon (Jessica) Kearley, Madeline Skinner, Sarah Skinner, Kevin (Sarah) Crant, and Gary (April) Crant; great grandchildren Gabe and Eli; sisters Margaret Fowler and Vivian Augot; and brothers Maxwell, Robert (Emma) and Lewis (Madonna) Kean. She was predeceased by parents Lewis and Bessie; husband Ephraim Skinner (November 1, 1995); partner Llewellyn Anderson (December 22, 2020); brothers-in-law Frederick Augot and Hayward Fowler; sister-in-law Ada Kean, and half-siblings Virtue, Leonard (Laura), Margaret, Maxwell, and Cecil Kean.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Marlene's life will be held at a later date.
Marlene will be ever remembered and loved for her hearty laugh, warm heart, and deep love for her family. She will be missed.
There is no night without a dawning
No winter without a spring
And beyond the dark horizon
Our hearts will once more sing…
For those who leave us for a while
Have only gone away
Out of a restless, care worn world
Into a brighter day.
